To use this environmentally friendly production processes, the tannery applies modern technologies that minimize the volume of water and hazardous products used for processing hides.

Concerned with the well being and safety of its customers, Rusan Tannery analyzes every 6 months the suede, making sure it remains within the standards of the restricted substances established in-company, which also fits with international requirements.

To remain competitive in the leather footwear industry, we must always be updated and concerned with our customers, offering high quality products, but also with the welfare of our employees and especially careful with the environment.

In consequence of that, the tannery Rusan passed through the audit of the BLC and became a member of the LWG(leather working group).

The objective of this multi-stakeholder group (LWG) is to develop and maintain a protocol that assesses the environmental performance and evaluation of leather tanners, promoting sustainability and environmental business practices appropriate within the leather industry.

The group seeks to improve the leather industry, creating a protocol of environmental priorities, bringing the best practices and providing suggested guidelines for continual improvement.
